This achievement is particularly encouraging for a delegation making its first appearance, especially as HUIT competed against numerous institutions with long-established traditions and strengths in sports. The results not only reflect the dedication and determination of HUIT's student-athletes but also highlight the potential for further development of the University's student sports movement in the years ahead.

106 Athletes, Eight Sports, and a Journey of Pushing Beyond Limits

At NUC 2026, the HUIT sports delegation comprised 106 student-athletes competing in eight sports: men's volleyball, women's volleyball, basketball, football, badminton, pickleball, Vovinam, and athletics.

Across all events, HUIT athletes demonstrated discipline, determination, and an unwavering commitment to giving their best against strong opponents.

Notably, the HUIT men's football team qualified for the national finals, securing a place among the country's top 16 teams. This milestone represents a significant achievement, reflecting the team's progress in both technical performance and competitive spirit.

Equally impressive, the HUIT women's volleyball team earned third place in the Southern regional competition, thereby qualifying for the national finals in Hai Phong, which brought together the eight strongest teams nationwide.

Meanwhile, the men's volleyball and basketball teams both advanced to the Round of 16, while HUIT's badminton team reached the Round of 32 in the men's singles event.

Although results varied across disciplines, every competition contributed to a memorable journey in which HUIT students challenged themselves, gained valuable experience, and grew stronger through each match.

Medal-Winning Performances Highlight the Determination of HUIT Student-Athletes

One of the most outstanding highlights of HUIT's NUC 2026 campaign was its collection of nine medals across Vovinam, athletics, and pickleball.

In Vovinam, Cao Thi Thanh Hien (14DHQTKD03) and Le Ngoc Tuan (16DHTH06) delivered an exceptional performance to secure the gold medal in the women's self-defense event. Their achievement became one of the delegation's most memorable accomplishments at the Games.

A Top 10 Finish in Its First Appearance: The Beginning of Greater Ambitions

With a total of 144 points and a 9th-place finish among 74 participating institutions, HUIT officially secured a place in the Top 10 of the overall NUC 2026 standings.

What makes this achievement even more remarkable is that the University accomplished it in its very first appearance at the Games.

The result is particularly meaningful given that HUIT competed against numerous institutions with extensive experience and established traditions in sports development.

From emotionally charged team competitions to individual events demanding technical precision, endurance, and mental resilience, HUIT student-athletes demonstrated adaptability, determination, and a strong desire to prove themselves on the national stage.

At HUIT, sports are not merely a means of maintaining physical fitness. They also provide an important environment for students to develop holistically, cultivating discipline, responsibility, teamwork, and perseverance.

These qualities are essential foundations that enable students to approach their studies, future careers, and personal lives with confidence.

The University's performance at NUC 2026 also provides further motivation to strengthen its commitment to student sports development, creating more opportunities for students to nurture their athletic talents, improve their physical well-being, and participate in high-quality sporting competitions in the future.

Closing One Chapter, Opening a New Journey

Although NUC 2026 has officially concluded, the memories of determined performances, countless hours of training, moments of triumph, and even the disappointments experienced along the way will remain unforgettable for HUIT's student-athletes.
